What if size differences were accepted the way differences in height are accepted. No one said 'you could stand to lose/gain a few' anymore than anyone would say 'You could stand to be a couple of inches shorter/taller'?
What if those whose weight is very great were looked on with compassion and understanding rather than disgust or disdain?

Am I The Only One?
I had a slight case of 'diet envy' this past week. Luckily I got over it, but it was touch and go there for a while.
Last week I ran into someone I haven't seen in a while. She's been low-carbing and is looking a bit thinner than last time I saw her. I've been managing to lose very. slowly. without dieting, but she, of course, has lost quite a lot more. Naturally a little voice began nagging me - telling me how much weight I could have lost by now if I'd just wise up and do low carb, too.
I admit, for a time it sounded pretty good to me. Just do it. Lose 20 pounds or so then I could work on a reasonable relationship with food, etc, etc. All those arguments that sound so reasonable.
But reason and self-knowledge eventually won out. So I'm sticking to slow, steady and sustainable.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to make a batch of dough for homemade - and not the slightest bit low carb - pizza.
